Butterflies

Today for Discovery Learning we had a topic of Butterflies. The children came up with lots of ideas of what they would like to do around butterflies...
* catch them
* draw them
* paint them
* draw them on Kidpix
* make them from construction materials
* write descriptions about what they look like
* make them with dough
* draw some on the ipads
* make them from cleversticks
* read about them
* make a butterfly book

Lots of children went outside with nets and bug catchers and tried very hard to find some butterflies to look at through the magnifying glasses. Unfortunately, there were no butterflies to be seen so we decided we might need to try again as the weather gets warmer nearer summer and we might find more.
